ANNOUNCEMENT We're very sorry that our concert on 9th April had to be abandoned following the collapse of one of our singers early in the second half. We'd like to thank the audience for its cooperation in vacating the church so promptly. We'd especially like to thank the two members of the audience who came forward to provide first aid. The singer, Peter Woolley, was taken to the William Harvey hospital in Ashford but sadly passed away on Sunday 10th. He was 78.
FUNERAL Peter's funeral will take place at 2 pm on Thursday 5 May at Vinters Park Crematorium, Bearsted Road, Maidstone, ME14 5LG. Family flowers only please. The piece that had to be abandoned -Eternal Light by Howard Goodall - will now be performed at our autumn concert on 15 October.
East Malling Singers is a friendly mixed choir of approximately 95 members that performs a wide variety of sacred and secular music throughout the season.
We perform a minimum of four concerts per year, one of which is usually a 'Come & Sing' event in which we are joined by soloists and orchestra, as well as guest singers. These concerts are held in the Church of St James the Great, Church Walk, East Malling, Kent ME19 6AG.
